I did my M.A. (History) with specialization in Medieval India and later joined for M.Phil. and Ph.D. at the CAS, Department of History, A.M.U., Aligarh. For my M.Phil I worked on the "Rawshaniyya Movement" a socio-religios movement on the north west frontier of India during the Mughal period. My Ph.D. is on "The Afghans in the Mughal Empire". Later I revised my M.Phil. dissertation and published it as "Religio-Political Ferment in the North West Frontier of India "The Rawshaniyya Movement". The Ph.D. thesis on the Afghans in the Mughal Empire made a special study of the Afghan nobles with particular reference to Khan-i-Jahan Lodi, a leading Afghan noble during the period of Jahangir and Shah Jahan.
