AMU Centres
A ten-member team led by the Vice
Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis is
visiting AMU Malappuram Centre for formal commencement of classes of
BALLB and MBA course on February 28, 2011.
The Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Prof. Jawaid
Akhtar and Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof. M. Shabbir will give an
orientation to the newly appointed faculty members for Malappuram
Centre. The other members of the team include AMU Registrar, Prof. V. K.
Abdul Jaleel, Finance Officer, Mrs. Yasmin Jalal Beg, Controller of
Examinations, Prof. Pervez Mustajab, Principal, Zakir Husain College of
Engineering and Technology, Prof. Ekram Husain, Media Advisor, Prof. N.
A. K. Durrani, Chairman, Department of Business Administration, Prof.
Khalid Azam and Chairman, Department of Law, Prof. Iqbal Ali.
AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Azis has thanked the Prime Minister, Dr.
Manmohan Singh, Union Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, MHRD
Minister, Mr. Kapil Sibal, former Union Water Resource Minister, Mr.
Pawan Kumar Bansal, Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Kerala for their
continuous support.
He said that the opening of the AMU Centre at Malappuram and Murshidabad
is a fitting tribute to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of Aligarh
Muslim University.
Taking a historic initiative, the AMU Court, supreme governing body of
the University had unlocked the potential of the University by passing a
resolution to establish its centre across the country and this
initiative has become a reality, he added. Prof. Azis said that the
classes will commence on March 6, 2011 at Murshidabad Centre.
He said that a model Women's College, Women's Polytechnic and
Engineering programmes will also start in these centres. He said that
the University has already submitted a detailed proposal to MHRD to
start these courses in 2011. |
