27-APR-2013: Two Subject Refresher Courses in Hindi and Research Methodology in Social Sciences organized by UGC Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University concluded. The courses that commenced about a month ago were attended by more than 80 University / College teachers from all over India. During these courses eminent resource persons delivered lectures and visits were organized to homes of AMU Faculty, M A Library, Ibn-e-Sina Heritage Museum etc. Interaction with media and cultural programmes including Marathi and Assamese cultural evenings and Hindi Kavi Goshthi were also held.
Addressing the participants, chief guest Brig. (Retd.) Syed Ahmed Ali, Pro Vice Chancellor, AMU said there is no room bigger than the room for improvement and teachers should continuously work hard to refresh their knowledge as they were entitled with the responsibility of shaping future of the nation.
Prof. A R Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College reiterated that the College was committed to the values of brotherhood, plurality and tolerance for each other. He said that the Subject Refresher Courses at the Academic Staff College were used also to promote peaceful coexistence among citizens of Indian.
Guests of Honour, Mrs. Rizwana Ahmed Ali and Prof. Shabahat Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Science gave away certificates to the participants. Professor M E Zuberi, Chairman, Department of Hindi was also present on the occasion. Prof. Mirza Asmer Beg, Department of Political Science was the Course Coordinator for SRC Research Methodology in Social Science while Mr. Ajai Bisaria, Department of Hindi coordinated the SRC in Hindi.
Dr. Prativa Phukan Baruah, Educationist from Dibrugarh, Assam; Dr. Mukhtar Alam, Anthropologist from Saharsa, Bihar; and Dr. Rahul Pandey, Department of Hindi, Lucknow University gave feedback opinion on behalf of the participants. They unanimously expressed their gratitude towards AMU for the holistic delivery of the courses and comfortable stay at Aligarh.
